December 29 - last tracking test of the year!
Increadibly enough we have been at a tracking test in the end of december! Normally the ground is covered with snow this time of year so tracking is out of the question, but now with a few plusdegrees and some rain it's still perfect conditions. This time we only had Freja -Ch Manaca's Xcuse Mu Conduct. Shestarted out a bit careful but soon got on with her tracking and ended up with full scores, 42 points! This was her second 1:st prize in open class so now she only needs one more for her championtitle!!

Stora Stockholm Int. show december 15. Judges, dogs: Mr Patric Ragnarsson, bitches: Mr Jostein Halvarsson
Last show of the year and this has for me (as for many others) become "a must". Not just for the show as such, but for the opportunity to socialize with friends from allover, around the rings. This year I had entered 4 red cockers mainly to be able to show  breedersgroup consisting the same coloured dogs. The class was judges by Mr Halvarson and got an honorary prize but no placeing this time.
Folke - Manaca's Gets Ideas Going won a huge intermediate class and ended up as reserve best male wich gave him his second CAC this year!! Walter - Ch Manaca's Yours Sincerely who will soon be 10 years (in December) won the veteranclass and ended up as 4:th best male and BOS veteran! Not bad for a 10 year old to be placed amongst the 5 best at a show with 137 cockers entered, we are so proud!
For the first time a   Manaca's cocker was shown in working class, and that was Freja - Ch Manaca's Xcuse Mu Conduct who we have borrowed from Finland for a while. She won the class but "only" with HP so there was no more competing for her. In her written critique it said that she moved effectivly and with drive, but the spoken critique said that she her movements was'nt at top for theday, she was a "bit low", maybe we got the wrong critique...
Solveig - Ch Manaca's Unblushing Dream was in championclass but did'nt get placed.
I also said a farewell full of tears (I hate goodbyes...) to our Victor - Manaca's It's A Pig in a Poke who moved to kennel Raccoon's in Finland, good luck with him!

On sunday master Johan went with our shorthaired miniature dachshund Irma - Dualis Unnibell to Stockholm while I was at home entertaing our visitors from England. She was second in workingclass with the CC and ended up as 3:rd best bitch! She turned 2 years only 5 days ago wich means that she now got her last CC for the championtitle and can now call her self Swedish show champion!!

When we got home there was a very nice mail waiting, telling us that our Ragnar - Almanza Hit the Road Jack, got his last CAC for the lethuanian championtitle! And as he has a CAC in Sweden from before he automatically also can call himself Swedish show champion!

I'm not yet that familiar to the English showsystem, so not until I got it confirmed from the English kennelclub I realized Sonja already at her first show in England got her studbooknumber and by that is qualified to Cruft's for life!! At the photo below she is with sandy Platt who achieved this with her.  Ch Dillonpark Ambrogina won the class and was BOB at that show.

On the weekend of December 1-2, I was in England again to make the final decisions from Sonjas litter. I'm glad to say that both the bitch and malepuppy were the one's I found as my first hand choices when they were 3 weeks old.
On this weekend London Cocker celebrated their 75:th anniversary judged by the judges Mrs Ferelith Somerfield on bitches and Mrs Anne Daniels on dogs, 228 Cockers entered. They offered cake (photo below) and wine to everyone.  Sonja - Ch Manaca's Undesingned Dream was entered in open class and it was a delight to watch her from ringside, showing off like allways and perfectly handled by Sandy. Just as last time she came in second after Dillonpark Ambrogina who was BOB again. Sandys bitch Charbonnel Castanette was best puppy and now became junior warrant, Congratulations to that!!  Best male was Canigou Classic Cliché

Simon BOB in England again!!!
At South of England Gundog show on November 25, judged by Mr Graham Osbourne,  Simon - Ch Manaca's High on the Hog, made us proud by winning the juniorclass becoming BOB! But he did'nt stop at that, he went all the way up to reserve BIS!! Huge congratulatiuons to Simons devoted owners Jane & David!!

Gundogshow in Wången nov. 17-18.
Yet another BOB puppy from the  Colin/Malena litter!! On saturday under Mr Jan Roger Sauge Axel - Manaca's Live Long and Prosper was BOB, and on sunday BOS puppy under Mr Vidar Grundetjern. Congratulations Manuela!
Huge congratulations also to Stellas (Ch Manaca's Of Course) daughter, Honeywater's Happiness Like Jam who got her first CAC and Martha, Manaca's Gainst the Grain who was reserve best bitch on the sunday, Gratulations Karoline!!
Gratulations also to Walters handsome son, Northworth Red Drama who was 3:rd best male both days, proud owners are Marianne and Örjan Ullebö in Norway

... and in Germany at Stuttgart National and Stuttgart International, Iven - Manaca's Day to Day Basis (Camillas brother) had success, CAC both days!! Huge congratulations to the Gruber family at kennel Plainfire's!!

Sonja has been to her first show in England...
Coventry Cockershow nov.17. Judge: Mrs Liz Cartledge (285 cockers entered)
Sonja - Ch Manaca's Undesingned Dream came in second in openclass after Ch Dillonpark Ambrogina who got the CC!!
This means that she qualified to Cruft's 2008 at her very first show!!
Millions of thanks to Sandy Platt for keeping her in such topcondition while caring for her litter of 10!!
Sonja is our 5:th Cocker to qualify for Cruft's 2008!!

Lots of news of this and that...
Lets begin in Vaexjo on November 2, where we attended an International show. First out was Diesel - Manaca's It's In His Kiss who was BOS puppy, congrats again Madde! Magnus - Manaca's Cutting Corners was 4:th in open class.
Colin - Manaca's Beat About the Bush won the championclass and was 3:rd best male! Freja - Manaca's Xcuse My Conduct advanced from last week to a 3:rd place, this time with CK.
After that weekend I spent a few relaxing days in England with Sandy Platt at the Charbonnel kennels, and of course my dear Sonja and her 10 new babypups, georgeous all of them of course... they are already turned 3 weeks old, how time flyes! Thanks Sandy for your warm hospitality!
And we got a new trackingchampion! It's Blenda - Manaca's Dress Designer, who has been so clever. In only a few days she got all her first prizes for her championtitle! Huge congratulations to her owner Katarina von Brömssen at kennel Support!
In Italy Biggy - Manaca's Big for his Boots got another CAC! Now he only needs one more for the championtitle, we are of course keeping our fingers crossed...congratulations to his devoted owners Elina and Enrico at kennel Ghirardina.
In Norway has yet another pup out of the Malena/Colin litter proved themself  by becoming BOB puppy. It's Lilli - Manaca's Like Little Bird Told Me who did this on her showdebut! Congratulations to Linda and Vidar. At the same show Nino - Manaca's Kingsize Kickoff also made his showdebut and he won his class, congrats Anna-Eva!
I missed the entry to Grangesberg so we had to do something else- tracking! Both Freja - Manaca's Xcuse My Conduct (who is here on loan for a while from Finland) and Kerstin - Manaca's Each and Every Day passed their abilitytests easily and the day after the borh got first prize in open class with the full points!

Gundogshow in Mjolby october 27. Judge: MrsMarjorie Martorella, USA (107 cockers entered)
After a very "messy" morning we came to the showground only minutes before the show was about to start. The plan was to be there an hour earlier to practise with the young pups who was going to do their showdebut. As there were so many entries the pups was to be judged by Mrs Ing-Marie Hagelin instead. Wich ment that the judging began at the same time in 2 rings wich made thing even more hectic. This was'nt exactly fair to the pups but all and all they did rather well and both Tony - Manaca's Learn Life's Ropes och Liliann - Manaca's Laid Out in Lavender were placed 4:th in their classes, wich was very satisfactory regarding to the cercomstances. They had the chance to socialize more after the judging when all had cooled down...
The 4:th place seemed to be ours this day as Diesel - Manaca's It's In His Kiss in puppyclass II, Folke - Manaca's Gets Ideas Going in youngsterclass and Freja - Manaca's Xcuse My Conduct in open class came in that place! The day was saved by our old man Walter - Ch Manaca's Yours Sincerely, almost 10 years old, who beat all other handsome championmales and was best male, BOS/BIS-2, BOB veteran and BIS-2!!>>
Kennel Manaca's was also awarded the best breedersgroup out of 4, and we ended up as BIS-2!! Thanks to Madde, Mia och Jenny for your help!!

And in Boden the same day, under Mrs Jessie Borregaard-Madsen, Ola - Manaca's Let There Be Light became BOB puppy, Congrats Nina!!

What a weekend...!!
On saturday 20:th, Stockholm Cockerclub had a Cockershow in Gnesta. The judge was Karin Gerhard from Germany.
We congratulate Gittan and her "Ines" - Manaca's Join the Joyride who was BIS puppy reserve!! and Anneli and her "Elming" - Manaca's Far and No Further who became 4 bet male. And a warm hand to Yvette and "Colin" - Ch Manaca's Beat About the Bush who was BIS reserve among the adults. Also huge congratulations to Karoline and "Kelly" - Honeywater's Happiness Like Jam who was made BIS!! Kelly is a daughter to Otto & Guns littersister Stella.

On sunday the 21:st we got a call from Egland with the incrediable news that our Simon - Ch Manaca's High on the Hog became BOB & BIS with a win from graduateclass at North Wales Cocker spaniel Breed show, judged by Roger Williams!! Best in opposite sex was Charbonnel Landgirl at Mollnme (littersister to Jack, se photo below). BIS puppy was Charbonnel Castanette. BIS reserve was Jacomus Class Act (runner up in graduate class). More details and photo coming up...
..
. and what a coincidence, that on the same day Ellinor, Simons mother, gives birth to 8 new sister and brothers!!
Se more info here.

Sonjas got puppies in England!!
On october 11:th Sonja got her litter of pups at kennel Charbonnel in England where she is staying for a period of time. She got 10!! pups! 6 boys and 4 girls, all black. I so much long to go over to see them all "live"! Many thanks to Sandy Platt who's taking so good care of her and really making her feel at home over there.

Here's Sonja with her 10 newborn pups...

... and here's the proud father, Charbonnel Warhero.

Int. show in Kongsvinger october 6. Judge: Mr Blaz Kavcic
We had a really successful journey to Kongsvinger in Norway. We sterted driving in fog and darknes at 3 o´clock in the morning (night?) and got to Kongsvinger in good time for the show, only 1 degree warm outside... burr.. The show was held in an sportsarena with artificial grass that was so confortable to run on and to stand on. Only 28 Cockers entered but all of excellent type on all of them. The judge was a new accuaintance and in the beginning i wondered if we had driven all the miles in vain when it started with my darling Folke - Manaca's Gets Ideas Going got last in youngsterclass with neither HP or CK, not very nice... well, everyone has the right to his own opinion I guess...
With new showrules in Norway you can enter a dog that is champion i some other country and get the CAC for the Norwegian champiotitle anyway, wich is very nice when you can show the dog in his right class.
Colin - Manaca's Beat About the Bush won the championclass and ended up as best male with the CAC and CACIB! This means that he is now also Norwegian champion aswell as NORDIC champion. He must surely be the youngest dog ever to gain that title! The other dogs placed in best maleclass were, 2:nd: SU(u)CH NUCH Casein's Campania, 3:rd: SU(u)CH Westerner Cross Country, 4:th: Northworth Red Drama (a georgeous son of Walter who's got 6 CAC's already!!).
Because I had 2 bitches with me, Josofin -  Manaca's Bag of Beans was entered in youngsterclass wich she won. Solveig - Ch Manaca's Unblushing Dream was in championclass and she came in second. In best bitchclass Josofin trotted to victory and became best bitch with the most wanted CAC (wich made her Norw.champion!)and CACIB and ended up as BOB!  The other placed in best bitchclas was, 2:nd Ch Cockergold Cute n´Blue, 3:rd Solveig and 4:th the winner from juniorclass Ronja - Manaca's Head Over Heels. Then a long wait for the finals were Josofin did'nt get placed, but huge congratulations to Galaksi and Cockergold, for their beautiful, red and white Danish American Cocker  juniorbitch who won the group... Home again at 9 o´clock in the evening... proud, happy and satisfied!

Tracking on september 30...

Dachshundclubshow in Biby september 15. Judge: Mrs Carina Olsson (S)
The preparations before the show when you've entered a shorthaired Dachsie are quickly done, a bath and cutting the nails and the dog is done, then just some packing coffee and stuff and your ready to go!
Irma won the huntingclass with CAC and was made BOB, so we had to wait for the BIS finals in freezing cold winds, where Irma finally was made up as BIS-4!!
Then hurry home to give 3 cockers their bath...

Gundogshow in Dingtuna september 16. Judge: Mrs Marjo Jakkola (FIN)
Puppies was judged by a new accuaintance , Tatjana Urek. Little Ines, Manaca's Join the Joyride has already become 4 months old and made her debut in puppyclass and she won her class and became BOS puppy, Congrats Gittan!
Diesel who's been BOB or BOS t almost all his shows went on in the same style and became BOB and BIS II!! Congratulations Madde!!
Then it was time for Folke - Manaca's Gets Ideas Going who now is in intermediateclass. There were 13 entered in the class wich he won and was later 4:th best male.  Magnus - Manaca's Cutting Corners har gått över i öppenklass och han kom där 2:a med CK. Colin - Manaca's Beat About the Bush was second in championclass and was reserve best male. Marta - Manaca's Gainst the Grain was reserve in a huge open class - 19 ! Solveig - Ch Manaca's Unblushing Dream was second in championclass and was 3:rd best bitch!

Yesterday, on september 1:st, Freja - Manaca's Xcuse My Conduct passed the field trial test, wich is required for the title in Finland, and made her Finnish Show Champion!! Manaca's first Finnish champion!! At the same day Frejas son also passed the field trial test!
Huge congratulations to Freja and owner Taava Nevapuro at kennel Fenbrook.

Colin - Manaca's Beat About the Bush was 3:rd in championclass and was 4:th best male!
We congratulate Arnie - Ch Quettadene Lancelot who was Best male, BOB veteran and ended up as BIS-3!!
Camilla - Manaca's Did it For A Dare won the youngsterclass and was 4:th best bitch. Märta - Manaca's Gainst the Grain was second in the class and was reserve best bitch! congrats Karoline!
Kennel Manaca's had the BOB winning breedersgroup!!

National show in Almare-Stäket august 26. Judge: Mr Kim Bay (DK)
After herrendous queues to the parking of the show, that we got better off than the one's that had a showstart at 9.00 in the morning, heard that some queued for over an hour... our ring did'nt start until 11.00 so the most of the heavy traffic had resolved by the time we got there, we "only" queued for 25 minutes. Because of this, the show was posponed for an hour in all rings so I think all made in time anyway. Despite of this I saw only friendly happy faces everywhere.
Magnus - Manaca's Cutting Corners was today second in open class and ended up as 4:th best male! Colin - Manaca's Beat About the Bush was second in championclass and 3:rd best male! Camilla - Manaca's Did it For A Dare won the youngsterclass and was best bitch with her 4:th CAC!!
Kennel Manaca's had again the BOB winning breedersgroup!!

and in England Simon's doing well...
Open show in Arlington august 26. Judge: Mrs Brandon (Stormjoy)
First Simon - SWCH Manaca's High On the Hog was second in juniorclass out of 8!

Well done and congratulations to owner Jane Pop who proudly went home with Champagne and prizemoney!!

what superweekends we had...
Oslo Int. aug 12 (Cruft's qualifying). Judge: Mr Tamas Jakkel
We left home at 2.30 in the middle of the night to drive to pick up Ragnhild (Almanza) with her 2 flat coats. With us on the trip was also Mario Marques, visiting from Portugal to get his puppy from the last litter home. I was grateful for the company on a trip that I intended to do by myself from the beginning (what was I thinking...? it's a 1100 km's back and forth in one day!). Just before 9 0´clock we were at the showground wich was all muddy from the heavy rain the day before.
Folke - Manaca's Gets Ideas Going was first in juniorklass wich he won! He did'nt get a place in best male but its still enough to qualify for Cruft's-2008! Then it was time for Magnus - Manaca's Cutting Corners in open class. He won his class and was placed as reserve best male! We had also brought Karolines Martha - Manaca's Gainst the Grain, who was also in juniorclass in wich she got a second place (so close to yet another Cruft's qualified...). She was in the final cut for best bitch, professionally handled by Mario, but no final placeing. Finally it was time for Camilla - Manaca's Did it For A Dare who was in youngster class. She won the class, was best bitch, got CAC and CACIB and is also qualified for Cruft's!!

Norrkoping International & Nykoping National  august 18-19.
American judges both days with mixed results, literally.
Saturdays judge: Mr Michael Dachel, started out good with the classplaceings. Magnus - Manaca's Cutting Corners was 2:nd in open class with CK. Walter - Ch Manaca's Yours Sincerely was 3:rd in veteranclass, but only with HP so he was out of competition this day.  Colin - Manaca's Beat About the Bush won the championclass and was best male with CACIB! So in best male Colin was first, second place with CAC went to the 3:rd placed in openclass, 3:rd was the winner from youngsterclass, 4:th was Magnus who was second in openclass, and 5:th was the 3:rd from championclass. The winner from openclass and second from championclass was evidentually not placed at all! and second and 3:rd from open was switched around, and this without any explanation... this leaves the rest of the show a bit "off"... But the final, worthy winners are to be gratulated anyway, Well done to you all!!
The bitchjudging held a bit straighter line.  I only had Solveig - Manaca's Unblushing Dream this day, who's in championclass. She was placed second in the class and then reserve best bitch, the only solid to be placed. Kennel Manaca's had the BOB winning breedersgroup, wich unfortunately could'nt stay for the finals.

Breedersgroup with: Ch Manaca's Yours Sincerely, M. Gainst the Grain, Ch M. Unblushing Dream, M. Quaint Style

Sundays judge: Mrs Gloria Mitchum-Gehringer, was a very nice acquaintance. She made no crossjudgings, went through the dogs with soft hands and was very sure of her classwinners. Magnus - Manaca's Cutting Corners came in on reserve place in open class with CK. Walter - Ch Manaca's Yours Sincerely won the veteranclass and was second best male and also BOB veteran. In the finals he was at his top this day wich took him all the way there, he was made BIS veteran under Ms Moa Persson!! Solveig - Ch Manaca's Unblushing Dream won the championclass this day, she was best bitch, BOB and finally BOG-3 under Mrs Lena Stalhandske! >>
Manaca's had also this day the same breedersgroup wich was made BOB!
Manaca's It's In His Kiss was Best puppy dog both days!! Congrats Madde!

Vesilahti, Finland august 18. Judge: Mr Jens Martin Hansen

Cockerclubshow in Soderkoping august 4. Judge: Mr Les Chambers, UK
Östergötlands was as usual wellorganized with lots of nice prizes, nicely cut grass, grilled for lunch and very nice weather with just a few clouds here and there to give some shade. Of course the weather was a part of the organizing aswell, was'nt it? ;-) Invited was a very nice judge from Ireland
who handled the dogs very well. He breeds Cocker spaniels with the prefix Sellna.

First out was the puppies as usual, where  Diesel - Manaca's It's In His Kiss improved his list of merits with yet another BIS! Congrats again Madde!
Folke - Manaca's Gets Ideas Going won the juniorclass again and then went all the way to the top, not only becoming best male and BIS junior, but also BIS !!  Walter - Ch Manaca's Yours Sincerely >> was in veteranclass again (mostly because veterans were free at this show) and was BIS veteran and reserv best male!  I had 2 bitches entered but as Solveig was in high season she was left at home. But  Camilla - Manaca's Did it For A Dare >> defended the bitches side well by winning the youth class and 2:nd best bitch. She then ended the day by becoming BIS youngster!

In Germany under judge Doris Junge.
Manaca's Earmarked Evidence was best male with CAC and anwarschaft. Congratulations to Monika Bollinger!

News from june 14 to 16, some intense days...
On thursday 14:th we had trackingtests up in our woods in Västerljung. 11 entries and all got first prizes or passed their abilitytests, exept 2. Congratulations to all! We had a really great day with lunch by an open fire, tracking and gossiping. I had 3 dogs entered in open class and  Folke - Manaca's Gets Ideas Going, Camilla - Manaca's Did it For A Dare och Irma - Dualis Unnibell, a
ll got first prizes. Folkes sister Martha - Manaca's Gainst the Grain, passed the abilitytest, Gratulations Karoline!
On friday I first bathed and trimmed 4 dogs who where going with me to Denmark. Both for show and also to give over Simon -SWCH Manaca's High On the Hog to his owners who drove from England to finally get him home. We wish Jane & Dave good luck, and lots of good times with him!!  On saturday morning, after a lot of goodbyetears and Simon safely packed in the English car, I went on to   Int. show in Ballerup, Denmark . Judge was Ms Moa Persson (50 entr). At the showground I had just managed to get my tent up before the rain started pouring down. And it kept on pouring down all day... I have never experienced so much rain in one day!! But, inspite of this, everyones mood seemed to be on the positive side, all going around smiling to oneanother, for how they looked, dripping wet and hardly anyone had proper rainclothes, as we all want to look good in the showring, Including me... well, I found an old winning from a show in my bag in form of a plastic ponsho with a hood that I ended up showing my dogs in!
My hopes were a bit up, since Walter has been known to do well in rain... - Ch Manaca's Yours Sincerely, 9½ years old, who this day had gone back to open class, with hopes for the CAC, did'nt dissapoint me. He showed of like allways and went right to the top, not only best male with CAC and CACIB but also BOB!! This made him Danish champion and also our first Nordic champion! Ve had Rebecka - Très Coquette vom Schloss Hellenstein in middleclass where she ended up second. She really hated the wet grass and was almost dragged around, are'nt they different!? This day we also brought old Signe - Ch Manaca's In Your Dream, who has'nt been shown in ages... but just like her father she showed off like never before and loved every second in the ring!! This took her to classwin and she ended up as second best bitch with the CAC!! This made also her a Danish champion! So both father and daughter became Danish champions in one day!!  After 1 hour blowdrying Walter he was dry enough for the finals where he was placed 3:rd in the group under breed specialist Helle Dan Pålsson!! After such a momorable day I did'nt mind much that it rained all the 6 hours drive back home too....

In Gränna x 2 (Cockerclub and Gundogshow. Judges: Mrs Angela Hacket och Mr Douglas Telford)  Diesel - Manaca's It's In His Kiss, made his showdebut and was BOS puppy the first day and BOB the other, Congrats Madde!!
Ronja - Manaca's Head Over Heels again won the juniorclass both days, one day with a 4:th best bitch and the second day reserve best bitch, gratulations again Cissi!!

National show in Norrkoping june 9. Judge: Mr Bertil Lundgren

Cockerclub Clubshow may 19. Judge dogs: Carole Wood, bitches: Jane Mitchell (111 entr)
This weekend I've entered 5 dogs and as the dogs and bitches was in 2 different rings I had to run back and forth a great deal (as usual..). Then it's much appreciated when the judging waits up in the rings. Almare Stäket was a new showground for as and it showed to be a really nice place with the grass shortly cut in the rings, wich is nice. In juniorclass I had entered 2 dogs,  Folke - Manaca's Gets Ideas Going and Simon, Manaca's High on the Hog. Folke won the class and was 4:th best male! Simon was 3:rd in the class with HP. Yvettes Colin - Manaca's Beat About the Bush was second in youthclass and ended up as reserve best male. Our Camilla - Manaca's Did it For A Dare got this day only a first in juniorclass. More successful was Ronja - Manaca's Head Over Heels, who won the class and ended up as 3:rd best bitch, (see photo>) Gratulations to her owner Cissi Johansen. Martha - Manaca's Gainst the Grain was placed as reserve in juniorclass with CK. Josofin, Manaca's Bag of Beans was 4:th in youthclass. Sonja- Ch Manaca's Undesingned Dream won the championclass but unfortunately got scared of the judges hood of the jacket, so no further placement.

International show in Österbybruk - "Swedish winner" may 12. Judge: Mr Leif Lehman Jörgensen
As usual there was huge qeues to the parking and the check in at Osterbybruk. Just as packed around the rings as usual too. And this time, with the Swedish winner title to be gained, there was 3000 dogs entered at one day! Ordinary at this show there's about 3000 over the whole weekend. The judge for the day was Leif Lehman Jörgensen from Denmark, a nice acquaintance with a sense  of humour, despite the fact that many dogs got seconds and thirds.
Folke - Manaca's Gets Ideas Going, was first out in juniorclass wich he won with CK. He the went on to second best male wit CAC and reserve CACIB! Today we also brought
Otto - Ch Manaca's On the Road, who was second in championclass and then 4:th best male. We had only one bitch with us and it was Josofin, Manaca's Bag of Beans, who won the youthclass and followed in Folkes style, 2:nd best bitch with CAC and CACIB!! Folkes sister Martha - Manaca's Gainst the Grain won the juniorclass with CK, gratulations Karoline!

Cockerklubben in  Vendel may 13. Judge: Mr Hans Rosenberg
A show that's beginning to be a tradition the same weekend as Österbybruk. The judge gave open critics, wich was much appreciated, as the spectators are given the chance to follow the judges thoughts and decisions.
Folke - Manaca's Gets Ideas Going first out again, and again won the juniorclass, he later became 3:rd best male. We changed Otto for Walter - Ch Manaca's Yours Sincerely, who won the veteranclass and was 2:nd best male and BIS veteran!! I juniorclass we've taken Kerstin - Manaca's Each and Every Day, out for practice and she was placed 3:rd. Josofin, Manaca's Bag of Beans was second in youthclass with HP. April 29, International show in Hilleroed, Denmark (Qualifying for Cruft's). Judge: Mr Frank Kane
First show of the year that was held outdoors, and what a wonderful day it became... sun was shining, we met so many nice, friendly people and the dogs did great!
First out was
Simon, Manaca's High on the Hog, who has just turned 9 months old a few days ago. He won a huge juniorclass (13 entr.), and became qualified for Cruft's!! We thought a Cruft's qualification  would be a nice gift to send with him when he goes  to England this summer, even though the judge told us he would'nt have any troubles qualifying many times over, in the motherland!!
Colin, Manaca's Beat About the Bush won the youngsterclass, became best male with the Danish CAC and CACIB, then went to BOB and ended the day as BOG-2 under groupjudge Luis Pinto Teixeira!!!
Rebecka, Très Coquette vom Schloss Hellenstein was in juniorclass and came in second. In youthclass Colins sister, Josofin, Manaca's Bag of Beans was entered and she won the class and then went on to 4:th best bitch, only one step from the CAC.

National show in Vasteras april 22. Judge: Ms Kari Granaas Hansen (79 entr). Dachshund: Mr Tino Pehar
The Vasteras show was as usual situated in Rocklunda, this time a showground under construction. There was cables and big rocks every where, and it was'nt easy to get the dogs and cages to the rings. And as the rings were in 4 different halls it was a long way to go... This day I had 3 cockers and the little dachshund Irma was for the first time in adult class. And of course... their rings were in totally different ends of the showground...
Folke - Manaca's Gets Ideas Going was econd in juniorclass with CK and then reserve best male. Then I had to rush away with Irma - Dualis Unnibell, to the dachshundring for measuring and judging. She was the only bitch so she got her CAC and was best bitch but then it got a bit nervous when she had to compete against a BIS winnermale... but after many rounds mooving Irma was BOB!! This was her first time out after puppyclasses. Then hurry back to the cockerring were I just had time to get Walter - Ch Manaca's Yours Sincerely, brushed who was to go in the veteranclass. He won his class and was later made BOB veteran and then ended up as BIS-2!! I had only 1 bitch this day and it was
Josofin, Manaca's Bag of Beans who has'nt been out since Cruft's. She won the youthclass and was 3:rd best bitch and got the CAC!
Gratulations to Kari Haave and her BOB and group winner Travis Miles of Smiles!

21/4: Tracking test.
Simon, Manaca's High on the Hog went on his first tracking test and passed the abilitytest superbly!
Rebecka, Très Coquette vom Schloss Hellenstein was for the first time in open class and got 1:st price!

"Lilla Stockholm" Int. april 8. Judge: Mrs Merja Järnstedt.
"
Lilla Stockholm", one of the yearly "musts" as one lives so close and Stockholm International is one of the most prestigoeus shows in the year. Folke - Manaca's Gets Ideas Going, was second in juniorclass with CK, he is slowly getting to be as fun to show as his great grandfather Walter - Ch Manaca's Yours Sincerely,  who is really enjoying his time in the rings. Walter was of course with us aswell and was second in veteranclass and 3:rd best male! Colin, Manaca's Beat About the Bush was for the first time second in youthclass, although with CK (because the second place at Cruft's in yearlingclass does'nt count, or does it!?). Sonja - Ch Manaca's Undesingned Dream was so full of energy wich took her all the way to the top amongst the bitches, she was BOS with CACIB!! Her daughter Martha - Manaca's Gainst the Grain made her debut in official classes and won the juniorclass with CK, she is owned by Karoline Djerf.
Kennel Manaca's BOB winning breedersgroup was this day consisting of 2 blacks and 2 reds - Walter, Folke, Sonja och Märta.
Desireé Widenor who has reached 10 years of age, was first time in juniorhandling, after several years of successfull competing in miniorhandling had borrowed Solveig - Ch Manaca's Unblushing Dream. Of 28 entries she was one of ten who made it all the way to the finals, and even if she did'nt get placed in the main ring, we all felt like she'd won anyway, making it so far the first time, congratulations and well done Dessie!!

Sonja and me on the run...

Sonja BOS with the judge Mrs Merja Järnstedt

Sonjas daughter Manaca's Gainst the Grain won the juniorclass with CK (she's a copy of her mother in the same age)

Desireé with Solveig in juniorhandling

Gundog show Uddevalla April 1. Judge: Mr Tamas Jakkel (jun.males: Mr Moray Armstrong)

Camilla BOS/BIS

Walter BIS veteran

(95 adult cockes and 15 puppies entered)
The yearly Gundog show in Uddevalla is like always a very well organised, and is held in excellent halls at Uddevalla messcenter. This year I chose only to go to only the show on sunday and after a 4 hours morningdrive I had to rush in the ring as the juniormales was to be judged first in the ring by Mr Moray Armstrong. Folke - Manaca's Gets Ideas Going got a 4:th place with HP.
Walter - Ch Manaca's Yours Sincerely was like usual in the best showmood and won the veteranclass and was reserve best male. He was also BOB veteran and ended the day as BIS veteran under Mrs Barbara Shaw from USA!!
Camilla - Manaca's Did it For A Dare, who I first had thoughts of leaving at home since her coat is not in topcondition, had a superday and after winning a big juniorclass she went all the way to the top amongst the bitches and gained her first CAC!! She was later BEST IN SHOW in the BOS finals!!  Camillas sister Blanda - Manaca's Dress Designer was second in juniorclass with CK, as she was also the day before under Mr Ernest Darby, her owner is Katarina von Brömssen, well done!
Sonja - Ch Manaca's Undesingned Dream won a big championclass and was 3:rd best bitch!!
For the fun of it we decided to show a colurmixed breedersgroup, consisting 2 blue roan bitches and 2 red males, wich I never thougt would have a chance in tuff competion against a smashing black group and a very even blue group. But... we won and we were also placed as BIS-4 in breeders finals under Moray Armstrong!!
A huge thanks to Daniel Svensson, Anna Johansson, Margareta Axelsson och Katarina von Brömssen who helped me handling the dogs this day, your help was worth gold!!

24-25/3 -Shownews from Norway...
Paddy, Manaca's Dog Has it's Day was second best male and got his second CAC under Mrs Lisbeth Campbell,

Best place is in mothers arms anyway!

Malmö International, March 17. Judge: Mrs Petra Junehall
Show in a stormy Malmö. The dogs cages almost were swept away on our way in to the showhall. There were endless queues into the halls were functionarys performed their duty to perfection and checked all dogs papers very carefully. I was almost stopped to enter with my Camilla, but after many discussions with the secretariat, we were allowed to enter. Vaccinationsrules say that "a dog over 1 year must be vaccinated around 1 years of age, or later", my Camilla was 1 year old 9 days earlier!  The funny thing in this, was that no one ever checked the other side of the vaccination sheet, so I could have showed a sheet belonging to Great Dane or something!!!???
Folke - Manaca's Gets Ideas Going, was first in the ring and was placed second in his class with CK. Due to a handler who promised to show him in best male, got otherwise engaged in the last minute he missed the best male competition:-(
Otto - Ch Manaca's On the Road, who has'nt been shown much lately is now really enjoying his time in the rings againg. After first beeing best male he went on to BOB and ended up as reserve in the group!! Group was judged by Anna Brankowich. Groupwinner from group 8, the american cocker CH. Wib's Tri N' Catch Me was the day after BIS under Tamas Jakkel. Congratulations to his owners Lotte & Michael Kristensen from Denmark!
Camillas - Manaca's Did it For A Dare's turn out in the ring. She was placed second in juniorclass with CK. Thanks to Olof Molander who shoed her in best bitch competition.
Last out was Solveig - Ch Manaca's Unblushing Dream, who came in second in championclass and was reserve best bitch.

Cruft's, March 8 -2007
JUdges, Dogs: Mrs Sally Shields - bitches: Mr John Gillespie
First out was Walter, Ch Manaca's Yours Sincerely in veteranclass (19 entr) who was shortlisted, but not placed.
2:a out was Josofin, JV Manaca's Bag of Beans who was placed 3:rd of 15, and thereby became qualified for Cruft's again, for next year!
After her came brother Colin who went one step higher and was placed second in yearlingclass amongst 18 entries!
Last out was Ragnar, JV Almanza Hit the Road Jack in openclass, who also was shortlisted amongst the best out of 20 entries, but not placed.

Full report from our journey coming up soon....

Just guess if I'm proud & happy !!!??? Or does it perhaps show on the photo?

Open show in Barva March 3. Judge: Mrs Sandra Williams, kennel Wilmerella (GB)

Simon, Manaca's High on the Hog has definetely come over his stagefright and knows what's expected of him in the ring. He went right to the top and was BPIS!! A great way to end his puppycarreer.
Folke, Manaca's Gets Ideas Going went in juniorclass for the first time, he came in second and then became  reserve best male!
Colin, Manaca's Beat About the Bush won the youthclass as usual, and then went on to best male, BOS and BIS youngster!
Ch Manaca's On the Road who has'nt been shown in a while, won the championclass and was 3:rd best male!
So 3 of 5 placed in best male class was Manaca's males - THAT'S GREAT!!!
Josofin, Manaca's Bag of Beans won the youthclass and was reserve best bitch and BIS reserve youngster!
Martha, Manaca's Gainst the Grain was 3:rd in junorclass with HP.
Sonja, Ch Manaca's Undesingned Dream came in 3:rd in championclass with HP.

Show in Mjolby february 10. Judge: Mr Frank Bjerklund, puppies: Mr Stig-Arne Kjellewold
With one judge for the adults and one for the pups it was bound to collide again, and I had to run between the rings like never before in order to show all 5 dogs that I had entered, wich a least kept me warm!  Simon - Manaca's High On the Hog had gotten over his stagefright and went to the top amongst the boys in puppyclass II. He then became BOS. His siter Babsan - Manaca's Honey I'm Home did very well and ended up at the second place with HP. Walter - Ch Manaca's Yours Sincerely was at his best behavior and became 3:rd best male and BOB veteran. Mariel Hathaway later made him up as BIS veteran! Kerstin - Manaca's Each and Every Day and I are struggeling along with the ringtraining and had to settle with a simple 1:st price this day.  Solveig - SVCH Manaca's Unblushing Dream who just loves to show off, won the open class, then went on to best bitch and BOS. She now got her last CAC wich made her showchampion!  Yet another of our bitches with a double championtitle! She went all the way to the top in the BOS finals where she was BIS, judged by Monica Dreijer.  Solveig has been out twice this year and both times she's been awarded CAC and BOS, quite a good start to the showyear for her, one can say....
Congratulations to BOB/BIS winner Ch Line Sam Hot Black Pepper and owner Anna-Carin Johansson!

Our new champion, Solveig BOS/BIS with
the judge Ms Monica Dreijer

Grandpa, Walter - BIS veteran once again!

Weekend of 3-4 February
This weekend was spent at a Breedconferens arranged by the Swedish Cocker club. Almost 80 breeders, both new and "old",  came together for lectures and discussions about health problems in the breed. Never before has a conferens of this caliber been arranged in Sweden, it was so informative, many thanks to all concerned!!

On Saturday 3:rd in Norway,  Elin Hallerud-Borgersens "Paddy" - Manaca's Dog Has it's Day, made his debut in the juniorclass, with the great result: CAC and 2:nd best male! Judge was Mrs Ann-Christin Johansson.  Congratulations!

Show in Stromsholm january 28. Judge, adults: Lilian Jonsson, puppies: Mia Sandgren
Yet another show in a cold "ridinghouse". Truly... there must be alternatives to theese!? Almost all unofficial puppyshows are arranged in warm and comfortable sportarenas etc, but almost all of our official shows during wintertime are in theese cold places.
This day I only had 1 adult with me, and that was Camilla - Manaca's Did It For A Dare who was in juniorclas for the first time.  The judge thought she could need some more ringtraining so we were placed second in the class with CK.  I also showed Ulrika Ljungs Bosse - Manaca's Absent Minded Artist who was placed second in youngsterclass with CK, only beaten by Colin - JW Manaca's Beat About the Bush who keeps his position in this class as a consistant winner, he finally ended up as second best male.
I had, unfortunately miscalculated Simons - Manaca's High On The Hog age, who I thought would compete in minor puppyclass. But since he reached 6 months he was placed in the second puppyclass, where also Folke - Manaca's Gets Ideas Going was entered. This was a bit sad since I prefer to train all newbeginnerpups by myself. And of course the judging in the adult ring and in the puppyring collided, with the result that I had to stress between the rings wich the dogs of course can sence.  Simon got stagefright and did'nt take one single step in the ring (even though he showed beautifully outside), but he got a promising critic. Folke relaxed after a while and showed of really well, wich made him BOB puppy amongst 22 in this class, this also ment that we had to stay in the cold for a few hours more for the finals. I'm happy we did, as Folke made it almost to the top and ended up as BIS-2!! (only beaten by a Golden Retriever) BIS was judged by Mr Hans Almgren.
Congratulations to BOB winner SU(u)CH LUXCH DKUCH KBHV-05PLCH WW-06
Travis Hold On To Your Dream and owner Britta Dafgård.
